This unique collaboration promises to be a creative explosion of diverse rhythms, powerful grooves, electronic soundscapes and acoustic world percussion from two of the most energetic and uplifting artists around today.
This exciting event combines the unique talents of two highly-acclaimed artists from different spectrums of the music world. Scanner is at the forefront of digital music, well-known internationally for his sampled work with Bjork and Aphex Twin. Pete Lockett’s relentless studio and live schedule has seen him work on projects with Beth Orton and the Pet Shop Boys as well as Bond movies and Hollywood blockbusters including Moulin Rouge.
“Parallax Beat Brothers is a performance which juxtaposes instruments and sounds in an unexpected and intricate way, from inflections of the voice to processed audio streams and beats. The result is a musical conversation which will excite and inspire audiences.” Pete Lockett
As well as producing compositions and recordings, Scanner’s diverse body of work includes soundtracks for films, performances and radio. He was most recently commissioned to compose a new National Anthem for Europe, Europa 25, reworking Bach Solo Cantatas with soprano Lorraine Hunt.
Described by Rhythm magazine as “one of the hardest working musicians in the world”, Pete Lockett has worked in every field of music conceivable, both live and in studio from pop and rock through to jazz and classical avant garde.
