In 1999, www.beat13.co.uk was built by Matt Watkins as an experimental website for displaying the audio-visual works of new talent in the hidden corners of Birmingham's creative community.
Since then, the Beat 13 collective has swollen to include people working in sound, design and illustration, all at the top of their game: most famously, Beat 13 member James Hewlett created the Gorillaz cartoon identity.
The West Midlands innovators will be bringing their brand of experimental creativity to Nottingham as part of the newly launched NOW Exchanges programme. Expect DJ's, VJ's, live graffiti and painting, dancing, drinking, swinging and Brummie accents.
