In this co-commission with Bonington Gallery, Kirsty Stansfield inhabits an exhibition space with three acoustic sound boxes, all specifically designed to generate noise.
The audience can alter the soundscape created by the subtle humming of the objects by touching them, and by breathing on them. Combining the intangible nature of sound art with the aesthetic qualities of finely crafted physical objects, Kirsty examines how our everyday interactions with static objects describe an intimate, if unacknowledged, relationship with our surroundings.
Co-commissioned by NOW, The Bonington Gallery and Vivid.
